Say hello to my new favorite summer cocktail…for now 🙂 I have become a pretty big fan of spicy cocktails as I feel like they are more unexpected, flavorful and they really pack a punch! It’s a GORGEOUS day out and it’s my weekend so I whipped up this cocktail using my favorite drinking vinegar from Pok Pok. If you have not tried these, GO OUT AND GET ONE NOW! A few spots besides online to get it if you are in the Seattle area are: Sugarpill and Mrs. Cook’s. If you know of any other places, feel free to add in the comments section.
For vodka:
5 dried peppers
3 cups of Tito’s Vodka
I infused peppers in vodka for about 3 months. It is not necessary to do it this long, I just kinda forgot about it. Strain vodka and transfer to new jar for use.
For Cilantro Simple Syrup
1/2 cup water
1 cup sugar
Handful of rinsed cilantro
Put water in saucepan and bring to a boil.
Slowly add sugar while stirring.
Remove from heat and add cilantro. Be sure to smash it in there a bit to bring out the flavor.
Let cool and strain cilantro.
You can add to jar and refrigerate until used.
For Cocktail
1 Shot Infused Vodka
1 Tsp Cilantro Simple Syrup
1 Shot of Pok Pok’s Pineapple Drinking Vinegar
Soda Water to taste
Add several ice cubes to shaker.
Combine all ingredients above except for the soda water.
Shake to combine.
Strain and add soda water to top off.
Enjoy and be careful because you could easily suck these down.
